In the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 25 at 1:30 a.m., Springfield College senior, Rachel Landon, her roommate, and another SC student were dropped off at their off-campus house, which is about a two-minute walk to campus.  As they were walking up to their property, they noticed a black car approaching the four-way intersection by their home.

“There were four to five presumed Springfield locals in the car,” said Landon.

The car halted at the stop sign and a man with a skeleton mask burst from the vehicle, starting yelling at the students, and began to charge at them.  The students made it into their house safely.

“The man in the skeleton mask retreated back into the car once we made it inside and the car drove off.  We called the Springfield police and they arrived almost immediately,” said Landon.

The police disclosed to the students that this was not the first time that they had heard of the little black car with a man in a skeleton mask.  They assured the students that they would continue to monitor the streets that night for any further activity.

“My friends and I were frightened after this event and hopefully it wont happen to any other Springfield College students,” Landon said.
