Black Friday is one of the craziest days of the year in retail. If you plan on going shopping next week, here are some tips to have the best experience possible.

For those who have never been Black Friday shopping, it does, in fact, get just as crazy as shown on the news. So if you don’t like shopping or large groups of people, I would advise you to sit this one out. If you decide that shopping on Black Friday is for you, make sure you’re not one of the people who ends up in the headlines. Yes, it’s great to get things at a cheap price but almost getting trampled for a TV probably isn’t worth it. Also, getting into arguments with someone over the last pair of boots probably isn’t worth your time.

Make sure to check out sales before you head to your favorite stores. Usually newspapers will have a ton of advertising or you can look online. Taking a look at the sales before you go can save you a lot of time. You can figure out what store has good deals and what places you can skip. Sometimes the sales are not that great on Black Friday, so doing some simple research could help you out.

Beware that some stores are only selling a limited number of a certain product as well.

To avoid the crowds, you can also do your Black Friday shopping online. You can still get some of the same awesome deals without waiting in line. Speaking of lines, the Black Friday lines can get long, so it’s best to have your phone or a few friends to entertain you while you wait.

Cyber Monday is also a great day for online deals, so if you don’t get lucky in stores, you can check online.
