As you are packing up your dorm room to go home for the summer, you might realize how much clothing you really own. But the good news is there is a lot you can do with the items you haven’t worn in months and probably never will again. I know that you may think, there is time I need this, but lets be honest you won’t. So here are a few ideas on what to do with those outfits.

You can easily donate you’re clothing to various places. There are often collection boxes where you can just place a bag of clothes in the bin. Also sometimes homeless shelters and places of worship take collections. This can really help people in need. Also, Big Brothers and Sisters will come pick up bags of clothes at your house. All you have to do is call and schedule a pick up. Your donation is also tax deducible.

Something I just learned about is Plato’s Closet. They will give you cash for you’re unwanted clothes. There are locations all over New England. However, they only accept certain brands so make sure to check out the website before you start sorting.

Another idea is to swap clothes with friends. Chances are they have some things they don’t want either, which means you can both add a few pieces of clothing to your collection, while getting rid of some.
