The 6-foot-9 power forward is averaging 18.9 points per game and 11.3 rebounds in his senior year. Wilson has yet to announce a decision on which college he will be attending in the fall, but he recently set his decision date to Jan. 23 and chose Kentucky, North Carolina and Ohio State as his three finalists.

The Student: When did you start playing basketball?

Wilson: I started playing basketball when I was six and it was my second sport, I played baseball.

The Student: Was there anyone who inspired you to play basketball?

Wilson: I like David Thompson. My dad told me that David Thompson was a star and I used to watch his old tapes.

The Student: What’s your favorite aspect of basketball?

Wilson: Passing. I love passing. It’s so good to see somebody else get involved.

The Student: What schools were your favorites to visit?

Wilson: My number one visit was Stanford because the school was so beautiful and I got to meet Andrew Luck. Coach Eshan recruited me heavily, he coaches at UIC now but that’s my guy. My Kentucky visit was nice too. It was with Coach Cal and it was fun because it was my first SEC visit. Lastly probably UNC because I went to go see them play Duke and that was crazy.

The Student: Is there any update you can give on your decision?

Wilson: Not yet. It’s next Thursday. I haven’t made a full decision yet but I’m excited for it.

The Student: What’s your favorite post move?

Wilson: Drop-step

The Student: What’s your favorite hobby outside of basketball?

Wilson: Playing College Football 25. Favorite team to use is Alabama.

The Student: If you had to team up with one current NBA star, who would it be and why?

Wilson: Victor [Wembanyama] because he’s young and we’re both tall.

The Student: Do you have a favorite NBA team? If so, how’d you become a fan of them?

Wilson: [Oklahoma City] Thunder. When Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander] went there.

The Student: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Wilson: Take it day-by-day.

The Student: Earlier this month you broke the all-time career points record for Holy Innocents, what was that moment like?

Wilson: It was great, it’s always good to make history. One of my teammates might break my record next year so I gotta fake not giving him the ball. I’m just joking.

The Student: What was your favorite play from today’s game?

Wilson: When I dunked on the guy from St. Joseph’s.

The Student: Do you have a favorite pregame snack or drink?

Wilson: I eat American Deli everytime there’s a home game. It’s a down south thing, the pepper wings are my thing.

The Student: Who is your favorite artist and what song of theirs is your favorite?

Wilson: My favorite artist is Lucki, he’s a rapper from Chicago. My favorite song is probably Super Urus.
