In February, FloSports, a global independent sports media company and streaming platform, announced a historic five-year media rights agreement with NEWMAC. Beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year, FloSports will become the exclusive media partner of the NEWMAC, with more than 1,100 regular season and postseason NEWMAC events live and on-demand across 17 sports.

The college’s broadcasts, which now stream on FloSports, feature multiple sports, including football, soccer, volleyball and field hockey. Fans and pundits witnessed the three-camera production setup for the first time in Springfield College’s inaugural football matchup against Western New England on Sept. 6.

“This partnership really puts us on the map,” said Max Berkowitz, the Assistant Athletic Director of Communications at Springfield College. “We are fortunate to have programs like Sport Management and Communications and Sports Journalism that can help support this effort. It’s a huge opportunity for our students, who now have a chance to get involved in broadcasting and production on a national level.”

Only four Division III conferences have signed with FloSports, amplifying the significance. In addition to garnering greater exposure for the college, the partnership also provides students with various opportunities. These opportunities include roles in broadcasting, operating cameras, producing games and managing ad minutes – a contractual obligation of the FloSports partnership. The goal is to become a leader in New England and the conference, with significant preparation for interviews and ads.

“We’re not just looking for people who want to be on air,” Berkowitz said. “These are crucial behind-the-scenes roles like operating scoreboards, producing video content and running ads. Every aspect of these broadcasts needs to be as professional as possible, and we’re committed to achieving that.”

A standard FloSports subscription costs $29.99 a month or $150 for the year ($12.50/month); however, NEWMAC fans can obtain a discounted rate by signing up through the NEWMAC’s landing page on FloSports by Oct. 1. Fans signing up with an email with a Springfield College domain will qualify for a discounted subscription price of $9.99 per month or $71.88 per year ($5.99/month).

Moreover, FloSports is launching “FloCollege” in October, where all collegiate broadcasts will be live – creating a user-friendly experience similar to ESPN+. Springfield’s games will be featured alongside significant matchups nationwide , offering a thrilling opportunity for players and students alike to share the same digital stage as large Division I and II programs. FloSports plans to stream nearly 12,000 Division I, II and III games through leading web, mobile and Connected TV applications, with subscription plans available at $19.99 monthly or $107.88 per year ($8.99/month).

In addition to watching on your computer or mobile device, you can access FloSports on AppleTV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Android TV.
