We would like to apologize for the poor wording in the article: “Ally Day Promotes Acceptance and Understanding.” The author wrote, “People struggle with acceptance and their decisions for their sexual orientation and how people will treat them every day.” This implies that sexual orientation is a decision, when, in fact, it is not.
We spend long hours working on the newspaper and even though we try and catch every mistake, it does not always happen. Ally Day spreads an important message at Springfield College, and promotes diversity and understanding. We fully support this effort.
