The biggest technology brand in the country, Apple, has been all over the news this week, with the launch of their new products.
For one, the iPhone 6 has been released, claiming the motto “Bigger than bigger.” Interesting, right? Well this bigger phone is definitely better, equipped with a smooth metal surface and Retina HD display that all of the newer Apple products have.
The phone is going to be available to users in the middle of September, but that does not dim the excitement consumers already have for this product.
Despite the iPhone 6 having a 4.7-inch screen, Apple didn’t stop there. Along with releasing the 6, the company also released the iPhone 6 Plus; that’s right, the 6 Plus.
According to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, “Only Apple can combine the best hardware, software, and services at this unprecedented level – and we think customers are going to love it,” as stated on the company’s website.
The 6 plus is made with a 5.5-inch screen, making it the biggest Apple phone out there. Many may call it a “phablet,” which is a phone that can be used exactly like a tablet (the term was coined back in 2011 when Samsung Mobile produced their Galaxy Note). Now with both phones noticeably similar, the companies will battle it out to see who can produce the best product.
Since the release of Apple’s new products, Samsung has been retaliating with commercials bashing the company and their new enterprise. Some comical, some serious, but most of the commercials are stating that Apple has stolen the idea Samsung has had for many years now.
So now that two of the top phone brands in the country are battling it out, what is next? What is missing? Well, from a viewer’s standpoint, nothing is “missing,” but the competition is getting stiff. What could be next?
The same day that Apple released the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the company also unveiled the Apple Watch – claiming it as the most personal device ever. The Watch comes out in early 2015 and according to apple.com and a quote from Cook, “Once again Apple is poised to captivate the world with a revolutionary product that can enrich people’s lives.”
Although consumers loyal to Samsung will say that these products are a copy of what Samsung started in 2011, Apple is using their unique style to really change the game.
With the constant change in the media world, society needs to see change, and Apple is trying to be the one that provides it. Although many companies are going to be the one to coin the individual products, competition will be stiff, and it will all come down to customer loyalty in the end.
