Cheney Doesn’t Serve Breakfast this Good

Chiddy Bang is mostly known for their upbeat hip-hop cover of “KIDS” by MGMT. They have made a lot of music since then coming up with Peanut Butter and Swelly, a solid mix-tape project, and a few other singles. Nothing stuck, until now with their new album, Breakfast.

The album packs a solid punch and really just flashes the true talent of the duo. Noah “Xaphoon Jones” Beresin is the musical genius of the group. His ability to sample from all varieties and create some of the heaviest hitting tunes are what make him so effective. He pulls from house music influences all the way to classics like Ray Charles.

His partner-in-crime is a lyrical genius who covers topics from his favorite video game to issues with past lovers. Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege is a Drexel grad along with Xaphoon. They represent Philadelphia hard and do a great job.

The songs you’re going to really want to listen to are the title track “Breakfast” and the rightly named song “Ray Charles.” The whole album is well worth the eight dollars you’re going to pay for it.

They’re definitely a group that I’d like to see on this campus very shortly and expect to see them climb the charts and hit the radio airwaves very soon.
