Project Sustainability is returning to Forest Park this Saturday morning for the second Zoo cleanup. They helped Springfield College as a community’s environment.

“Last year was the first time we had ever done it, and it was a great experience for the club members and the zoo workers. The members got to lend a helping hand to the staff,” said project sustainability member, Meghan Skura.

Every year Project Sustainability does their best, around the Springfield community, to lend a helping hand. It is a great thing to be involved in because of the volunteer work and the help you can do.

At this particular project they do work that a lot of people have done during Humanics and Action Day. You can participate in the group by signing up for the activity and help out the community as a part of Project Sustainability.

“We did things such as raking leafs, pulling weeds, picking up liter, and even some painting.,” said Skura. “The staff provided us with lunch and snacks, and we even had extra time to see the animals.”

Project Sustainability is helping the Forest Park Zoo for the spring season by helping them get ready for what is to come. Benefits for people participating are the first 50 students to sign up get a free t-shirt.

Members of the college should get involved and help out with this event, but more importantly help out our community. Helping out in every way you can goes a lot way.

“I believe students should participate in event because it is such a great opportunity, and it gives you such a great feeling to know you are making a difference,” said Skura.I left Forest Park Zoo last year with a smile on my face, and I can’t wait to return this year,.”

There is still time to sign up and be a part of this event. It is being held on Saturday at 10 A.M. and lunch is provided. It will be a great experience not only as a member of the community but with your friends and peers in Project Sustainability. Getting involved in events like these will better us as a community and better Springfield College.

The Forest Park Zoo cleanup is a great way to end the semester with your friends by giving a helping hand to the zoo. Project Sustainability does a great job with the events and is a positive and all around great part of the Springfield College campus.
