Seven questions with… Don Dantzler

By Layna Delgado

Don Dantzler has been the bookstore lead for 13 years at Springfield College. Though Dantzler is originally from Rocky Mountain, N.C., he calls Manchester, Conn home now. The Student had the opportunity to get to know a little more about Dantzler while he asked students for their signatures for bookstore orders.

The Student: What’s your favorite thing about Springfield College?

Dantzler: I like the student interaction. You guys are always fiery and everything else so I kind of like that it keeps me young.

The Student: The Super Bowl is this weekend; who are you rooting for?

Dantzler: I am rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs. I like to see history and hopefully it’s going to be a 3-peat.

The Student: So no Jalen Hurts?

Dantzler: See I’m a Giants Fan so I can’t root for Philly.

The Student: What’s the most popular thing at the bookstore?

Dantzler: It’s got to be the clothing. Sweatshirts and Springfield swag, you know how it is.

The Student: When are the best deals?

Dantzler: The best deals are usually in the fall before the break and then in spring before spring break.

The Student: Is shopping online better or in-store?

Dantzler: It depends on the student. Online usually works for far away students or alumni, But I want people to come in and see what we got, you know? You can’t get the visual aspect of it online.

The Student: What’s your favorite place to eat at in the union?

Dantzler: Subway, eat fresh!
