Elizabeth Monsen

Monson, a sophomore defender, has been a huge threat on both offense and defense this season. While leading the Pride to its third-straight NEWMAC conference championship, Monson scored in both the semifinals against Babson and in the finals against Wheaton. She netted the second goal with 14:42 left in the contest in the Pride’s 2-0 victory over Babson.
Q. Two NEWMAC championships in two years. How does it feel?
A. Being part of a team that has won two NEWMAC championships in two years feels incredible.
Q. You stepped up when the team needed you most, what was your biggest motivation?
A. My teammates were my biggest motivation in this playoff run. We were all in this together and we would all do anything for the good of the team, and knowing that really lights a fire in you to do everything you can for them.
Dylan Foley

Foley, a Criminal Justice major, has opened up his senior season with impressive numbers. Coming off a Junior season in which he earned All-American honors, Foley opened up his senior campaign with a 5-0 individual record winning two-decisions on the first day of the Ithaca Invitational, three-decisions on the second-day and was crowned the Champion in the 165 lbs. bracket.
Q. How has your off-season preparation converted to your early-season success?
A. This off-season was filled with lots of rehab paired with strength training. After nationals, I took some time off to heal up and recuperate, but shortly after started up again. I trained 5-6 days a week usually accounting for 8 workouts per week. I also worked a lot on the mental side of the sport.
Q. As a senior, what is your biggest piece of advice to the rookies and underclassmen?
A. As a senior, the only thing I can suggest for up and comers, whether it be youth, high school, or college, is to just work hard day in and day out. Hard work, effort, consistency, every single day. Also, learn and love the sport. Wrestling is unique in nature and way too grueling of a sport to not be absolutely in love with what you are doing.
