Altman, a 6’3” guard, has been a vital part of the Pride’s men’s basketball team’s 3-0 record to begin the season. After sitting out last year due to injury, Altman is back and ready to bring the Pride to the top. The Rockport, Mass. native scored 11 points and added eight rebounds in the Pride’s opener this past Saturday against SUNY Cobleskill.

Q.  What was the biggest expectation you had for your team and yourself coming into this season?
A. The biggest expectation I have for our team coming into the season is to win the NEWMACS and return to the NCAA tournament. I truly believe we have a chance to go far with this team. I’ve tried to not to place too big of an expectation on myself this early because it has been a while since I’ve played in high paced games due to my injury. But I’m hoping to do whatever I can in order to help my team win games and ultimately reach our goals.

Q. After sitting out last season, you’ve shown great promise and a high play-level to begin this season, what can you attribute this too?
A. A great support system. From athletic trainers to strength coaches and of course the team.

Greco, a sophomore on the Women’s Swimming and Diving team, has had a variety of great performances to begin the season. This past Saturday in a tri-meet with Wheaton and Keene State, Greco, along with her 200-yard medley relay team placed second overall with a time of 1:52.60. Individually, she was the top finisher in both the 100 and 200-m butterfly as she cruised in at 58.80 and 2:13.53

Q. Do you feel that preparation in practice and outside of the meets has fully contributed to your success during meets?
A. Preparation in practice and outside of meets has fully contributed to my success during meets. Our sets in practice are designed to prefect your races at meets. We practice different strategies and techniques to mentally and physically prepare us for meets.

Q. As a sophomore, do you feel you are swimming at a higher-level than last year?
A. As a sophomore, I feel as though I am swimming at a higher-level than last year. I know what to expect this year. My times have improved since last year, which makes me feel excited to see what I can do at NEWMACS when I am tapered.
