For everyone that is in a happy, loving relationship, this is your week. Valentine’s Day is this Friday and you are going to have a fantastically cliché date night full of love and laughter.

The only dilemma love birds face during this holiday is what gift to buy their significant other.

Holidays like this one are stressful because of the mere idea of giving and receiving gifts. Valentine’s Day is a holiday devoted to appreciating your love. It is not a holiday that should revolve around gift giving.

For guys, it is simple. Don’t break the bank for this holiday. Get some flowers, some chocolate and maybe a pair of earrings or a necklace and call it a day. Back in the day, it was the little gestures like flowers and chocolate that made for romance.

Girls have it a little bit harder because men aren’t going to go weak in the knees over flowers or chocolates. However, this does not mean you need to drop an excess of cash in order to make your man happy.

You could make him a card or cook him a romantic dinner instead of making him treat you. It isn’t about grand gestures; he wants to see that you were thoughtful and sweet.

Take an old shoe box and cover it with red and pink wrapping paper, then fill it with little things he likes. You can put candy, ChapStick, socks, and funny little things that only you and him would understand in the box to make it special. Don’t be afraid to be a little creative.

That being said, a lot of people aren’t in these happy-go-lucky relationships. Some people only have themselves as a valentine this holiday. So, for those special loners out there, go spoil yourself for the day.

You don’t need a significant other to buy you chocolates or take you out to dinner. Get yourself some chocolate and enjoy a movie and a glass of wine. Sometimes it is nice to take time to appreciate yourself.

Here’s hoping you all have a happy Valentine’s Day!
