VOTE: The Springfield Student Athlete of the Week for Oct. 31 – Nov. 6

This weekโ€™s nominees:

Riley Donahue – The sophomore outside hitter for the womenโ€™s volleyball team combined for 29 kills and 20 digs in two NEWMAC Tournament games. This included 16 kills and four service aces in the Prideโ€™s three-set win over Coast Guard on Tuesday.

Kay Shen – The sophomore swimmer won the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.60 seconds in the Prideโ€™s meet against MIT on Saturday.

Megan Kirtyan – The first-year setter for the womenโ€™s volleyball team racked up 34 assists in the Prideโ€™s three-set victory over Coast Guard on Tuesday.

Megan Crawford – The junior diver had the highest score for the Pride in the one-meter and three-meter dives.

And on the menโ€™s side:

Joe Maurer – The junior defensive back for the football team had two impactful interceptions along with four tackles in Springfieldโ€™s 16-14 win over MIT on Saturday.

Chase Parrott – The senior wrestler went undefeated in five matches at the Ithaca Invitational this past weekend, and he won the 149-pound title at the event.

Jonathan Chan – The sophomore swimmer was the runner-up in the 200 freestyle and the 400 individual medley races in the Prideโ€™s meet against MIT on Saturday.

Dante Vasquez – The sophomore running back for the football team ran for 106 yards and a 46-yard touchdown in Springfieldโ€™s 16-14 win over MIT on Saturday.
