This week’s nominees:

Sidney Wentland – The women’s basketball forward shot 8-10, leading the way with 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the team’s dominant season opener in Blake Arena on Friday. Wentland is a grad transfer from Concordia.

Sam Hourihan – The junior forward stuffed the stat sheet and led the women’s basketball team to a dominant victory on its opening night with 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals.

Amelia Harper – The goalkeeper came up clutch in the women’s soccer semifinal victory over Wheaton. The game went to a shootout where Harper made two miraculous saves to send the Pride to the NEWMAC Championship.

Lefteri Roba – The junior stood out in the pool in the women’s swim and dive team’s win over Smith on Wednesday. Roba was part of the first place 200 medley relay team (1:56.55), the winning 200 free relay team (1:45.33) and finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:23.78.

And on the men’s side:

Luca Brashear – A junior on the men’s dive team, Brashear won on the one-meter and three-meter boards on Saturday against MIT with scores of 278.92 and 292.43, respectively.

Chris Trelli – In the 141-pound weight class, the senior wrestler was the runner-up at the Ithaca Invitational. Trelli, the national No. 9 wrestler in the class, picked up four wins to start his season before falling in the title match on Saturday.

Chase Parrot – The third seed in the 149-pound weight class earned three victories to open the wrestling team’s season on Friday and added another on Saturday before eventually being pinned in the finals at the Ithaca Invitational.

Billy Carr – The sophomore linebacker led the football team in total tackles with six, including four solo. Carr also completed a nine-yard sack and two tackles for a loss in the team’s win over MIT on Saturday.
