When the holidays come around, it’s time for every woman to break out their little black dress. The little black dress made its debut in the 1920’s and has been a staple in every female’s wardrobe since.

With this look being such a classic, it is important to spice up your look with the right accessories. After all, you want to be the one that turns heads at the Christmas party.

First things first: layering is in this winter. Pick a pretty sweater or cardigan that has some rich color to it. The color will make you and your dress stand out. It will also add that element of warmth and fun to the classic little black dress.

A black dress that moves a lot can be toned down with a wide, sparkly belt. Adding a belt will help accentuate your contours and complements your curves. The curves you want people to notice.

Jewelry is the easiest and best way to brighten up any look. Try stacking your bracelets for a fun but classy look. Try teardrop earrings this winter and a shiny piece of bling around your neck to complete the look.

Try wearing a black dress with a lace back. If you find one with some flecks of silver or gold to it, that would be perfect. You could compliment the silver or gold with your makeup, jewelry and shoes.

The next tip is dressing up your face. Do your makeup simply but accentuate one feature. Try doing a bold look around your eyes, or the vintage red lips to bring attention to your face.

If you are feeling especially edgy this holiday, break out a printed moto jacket and rock some booties. You could also add a studded bag to really set off the look.

It’s all about you this holiday season. Find the look that makes you feel the best and rock it. Don’t be afraid to stand out and try wearing things that are out of your comfort zone.
