Finding The Right Formal Dress

A few of my senior friends have already been talking about formal. Although it’s a few months away, they have been discussing how excited they are, and most importantly, what dress they are going to wear. If you think about it, the senior formal is basically the prom of college, and we all know how long it took to find the perfect dress for that.

So if you haven’t started looking, you definitely aren’t behind, but if you want to make sure you find the best dress possible I would start searching soon. Here are some places you might want to try that won’t break the bank.

If you haven’t looked at this is a good place to start. The website sells hundreds of dresses at fairly low prices. You can get 50 percent off your first order, and the website also has frequent 40-percent-off sales. You probably won’t end up paying more than $40 for a dress, and they have some really cute and colorful options. They offer all kinds of styles such as open back and strapless. If you order from this site, I would definitely order far in advance in case the dress doesn’t fit or looks a little different than pictured.

If you want to show up super stylish I would suggest using the website Rent The Runway. You can get 20-percent off your first order, and the website allows you to rent any dress you would like. You aren’t buying the dress, but you can wear a designer dress that may cost anywhere from $300 to over $1,000 for around $50, which is a pretty good deal.

If you are looking to go the department store route, I would have to say Nordstrom has some of the best dresses. They are a bit more on the expensive side but there are lots of options. Most of the dresses are elegant; some are plain while others have patterns or sequence. If you prefer to try things on prior to buying them, going to a store is probably the best way.
