With spring hopefully just around the corner, it is time to get your skin ready. Those cute tops and cropped pants look great, especially if you have clear, flawless skin.
We all know winter has a way of making our skin dry, bumpy and broken out. So here are a few simple tips to get your skin ready and glowing for the spring time.
For those of you who like to take long, hot showers all winter long without moisturizing, dry spots are going to be your biggest issue. Whatever moisture that is left on your skin after your shower, the heat from being indoors quickly soaks up. Dry flakey patches of skin are what you’re left with.
The easy fix for these dry patches would be to moisturize after your shower. Use a moisturizer containing urea, which softens your skin, and glycolic acid, which buffs away the dead skin. Also, exfoliating with a loofa will help your skin retain its moisture.
Another skin flaw that can occur during the winter season is back and chest breakouts. These can be caused by hormones, sweat from the heat inside and just about anything else.
The best way to fight breakouts would be to clean the problem areas on a daily basis using a body wash containing salicylic acid, which sloughs off dead skin cells to unplug pores, or benzoyl peroxide, which kills the bacteria that cause inflammation.
Because winter is such a dry season, shaving becomes a hassle due to those little red razor marks that drive just about everyone insane.
Rumor has it that using a single bladed razor rather than a three or four-bladed razor will help those bumps disappear. Also, shaving with the hair instead of against it will prevent irritation.
Spring is the time of year to start showing a little skin here or there. So take my advice and have beautiful, flawless skin by the time spring time rolls around.
