fashionAs I am sure you’re all aware, Christmas is right around the corner. That means presents are in order for your friends, family, roommates and basically everyone that is important in your life.

Now, if you are anything like me, I’m sure all you just heard was “$$$!” But, what if I told you Christmas doesn’t have to break the bank this year?

First off, you only have to buy really nice, thought-out gifts for your immediate family and people you really love. Other than that, don’t kill yourself spending money on people, because they won’t do the same for you.

So, when your roommate’s best friend and the girls at the lunch table decide it’s secret Santa time, don’t sweat it. I, of course, have tips to save you from holiday disasters and an empty bank account.

The first thing we need to get out of the way is buying gifts for your girlfriends. We tend to overthink and go an overly extravagant route. Stop overthinking and hear me out.

Go to Bath and Body Works and grab a lip gloss and some scented hand sanitizer. Then scoot over to Target and grab some slipper socks or cute wool socks that can be worn with boots. Boom. It is simple, pretty and really useful.

You could also pick out a cute scarf. They are practical, cute and not to mention cheap. If you are really feeling nice you could grab the matching mittens or gloves, too.

Next item of business is buying gifts for those close guy friends that you love to death but can’t find gifts for. Well, do they like sports? My guess is yes. So go to one of those tacky sports shops in the mall and buy a cheap T-shirt, hat or even a shot glass with their favorite team on it. They will love you forever just for being so thoughtful.

As for the secret Santa shenanigans that little cliques like to take part in, Target and Bath and Body Works are your stores. They sell lotions and perfumes and little girlie knick-knacks that are cheap and something every girl will love and use.

You could also buy a cute coffee mug for your friend that says something cute or has their favorite sports team’s logo on it.

Christmas isn’t about how much money you can go and spend. It is about doing a little something extra for the people in your life that you truly care about. Sometimes the little gestures are the sweetest.

So, this Christmas don’t just shop, shop smart and save your money!
