On Thursday evening, a “Pink Off” will take part on the Senior Green as a fundraising benefit for the upcoming 20th annual Rays of Hope Walk taking place in Springfield this Sunday, Oct. 19.

Between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday night, students living in the Townhouses and Senior Suites can dress their Resident Assistant in the color pink, with all items coming from the residents.

Creativity is key, with the outfits making a statement; they can be fashionable or humorous, as the RA’s will have to participate in a catwalk on the Senior Green, displaying the outfits.

Residents will be able to vote for the best dressed RA at the cost of $0.50 per vote, with all proceeds going to the Rays of Hope Walk.

The Rays of Hope Walk, which attracts over 20,000 participants every year, is a walk that helps fund the search for the cure for breast cancer and in support for breast health here in Western Massachusetts. Rays of Hope has raised over $11 million dollars since 1994, all of which has remained in local communities.

Residents of the Townhouses and Senior Suites should gather pink clothing in anticipation of the Pink Off as a fun way to help the community.
