The Psychology Club works all year to put together events that will help the college community better themselves psychologically and maintain healthy lives.
On Thursday, May 1 from 12-4 p.m. they will be co-sponsoring Stress Relief Day with Campus Recreation and the Health/Counseling Centers. Stress Relief Day will be outside of the Union, if the weather is nice, and if it is raining it will be held in the Field House.
The activities at the event will include bubbles, sidewalk chalk where students can write down what’s stressing them out, hula hooping and limbo contests, pot your own flower, paint sponge throwing, fake tattoos, candy and lemonade stands, and lawn games.
Campus Rec. (along with the Health/Counseling Centers) will be on the second floor of the Wellness Complex doing chair massages, make your own trail mix, cards and stress balls, nail painting, a fresh fruit and lemonade stand, and yoga and cycle at noon.
“This event is held to provide students with the opportunity to relieve some much-needed stress as the end-of-semester rush sets in,” said Kristen DeAngelo, president of the Psychology Club. “It is an opportunity for students to take a quick break and participate in some fun and mindless activities to get their minds off of what is stressing them out.”
With exams coming up, it can be very stressful on students who are facing tough weeks and need to find ways to relax.
The Psychology Club strives to teach people how to relax and provides people a place where they can.
“Students should stop by outside the Union or the Wellness/Recreation Complex on Stress Relief Day to give themselves a much needed break,” said DeAngelo.
“While it may be hard to find time to relax during the final week of classes, it is very important that students do so to make sure that the end of the semester is a successful one.”
There will be free food for anyone who comes to participate and other take-home items.
The events are a fun way to relax and let some stress out before the last week of classes and the exams that follow.
