The Career Center is introducing its first Career Olympics on Feb. 3 through Feb. 21, where the first-place team members each win an iPad 2.
“The Career Olympics will challenge teams of three students to compete in career-related competitions for Gold, Silver, or Bronze prizes,” said Jeanette Doyle, director of the Career Center.
“Teams will monitor their own point values and choose the competitions they wish to participate in. The top five scoring teams will be invited to compete in the final round,” she added.
The second-place team will each receive a Kindle Fire, and the third-place team will each receive a Springfield College portfolio with job search materials. Prizes will be awarded at the Closing Ceremonies on March 6 at 5 p.m. in Cheney A/B.
“Each team will be give a list of tasks to choose from at our opening ceremonies on Monday, Feb. 3 between 3-6 p.m.,” continued Doyle. “Teams will be able to select which tasks they wish to complete, as all tasks are career-related items. Many of the tasks can be done at any time of day,”
It is a great way to get involved with the Career Center for some friendly competition. It’s also a fun way to work with your friends and win some fun prizes together.
This will be the first year the Career Center has done this to get students involved with career possibilities with no limit on how many people can join.
The Career Olympics is open to all students on campus. The deadline to sign up in the career Center is Friday, Jan. 31 at 4:30 p.m. For questions about the Career Olympics, please contact the Career Center at (413) 748-3222.
